Daily Work Does Not Equal ExerciseOur grandparents and great-grandparents knew what real work was. Their life was Exercise. This mindset coaching article will show you that daily work does not equal exercise.

So many people think that they move enough through the day. The harsh reality is that since we have so many modern conveniences our movement patterns are drastically reduced. Therefore the obesity rate has increased at an alarming rate. Our grandparents would kick our butts if they saw how we live today.

When I worked in the window factory I heard it all the time. My exercise is my job. Daily work does not equal exercise because we only work 8 hours a day. Give or take 1-3 hours. That leaves another 8 hours of the day to do something with. A sedentary lifestyle will be the death of you.

There are jobs out there that do exert the body to an extreme, but even then the body requires maintenance. The thought that doing daily work equals exercise isn’t exactly correct. Living in Northern Minnesota we get many inches of snow. Shoveling snow is one thing I hear is exercise.

It’s time to wake up. Shoveling snow is the action that you’re preparing your body for when you exercise. The WODs are the best preparation on the market. It creates consistency and a solid foundation so when you’re scoping “heart attack” snow you don’t actually have a heart attack.

Let’s go even further and really piss people off. As much as you think hunting and fishing is work, it isn’t. It’s another activity that exercise prepares you for. Back when our grandparents hinted and fished they did it every day. For some of us, it would be it great-grandparents, but still. It wasn’t long ago that they did all of that out of necessity.

Our society has gotten way too dependent on convenience. Because something takes work we avoid doing it. For example, when it snows and moving snow with a shovel our minds go into a place of lack because we don’t have a snow blower or easier way of snow removal method. I’m grateful and express my gratitude daily for the ability to move the snow. That brings on more happiness and joy.

Daily work does not equal exercise. Prepare your body with daily practice of certain movements so that you’ll be ready for anything. Hence the 365 WOD Journey and Battle WODs Program. Commit yourself to one round minimum today.
